Guests not meeting these requirements may not be eligible to participate for safety reasons.

Arrival Information
Guests are responsible for arriving on time.
We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before departure.
If a guest arrives late and misses the activity start, participation may not be possible.
However, we always try to be flexible when possible and when our schedule allows, provided safety, horses, and other guests are not affected.
Our goal is always to provide the experience whenever reasonably possible.
Horse Riding Information
Horse riding is an outdoor activity involving natural risks. By joining, guests acknowledge and accept these risks.
Riders must:
- Be physically able to mount independently
- Follow guide instructions
- Inform us about relevant medical conditions
- Be comfortable around animals
For safety reasons the following cannot ride:
- Pregnant guests
- Persons under alcohol or drugs
- Guests considered unsafe by staff
Riding Equipment
For safety:
- Helmets must be worn
- Suitable outdoor clothing required (long trousers, no shorts!)
- Closed sturdy shoes required
Backpacks are normally not allowed on rides for safety reasons.
Valuables can be stored during tours but remain the responsibility of the guest.
Biosecurity – Important Information
To protect Icelandic horses from diseases, used riding equipment from abroad is not allowed.
This includes:
- Riding boots
- Helmets
- Riding clothes
- Gloves
- Any horse equipment
This rule follows strict Icelandic animal health regulations and protects one of the purest horse breeds in the world.
The Farm Environment
Finnsstaðir is a working Icelandic horse farm located in the countryside.
Farm environments naturally include:
- Mud
- Uneven ground
- Animal smells
- Changing weather
- Natural surroundings
These are considered part of the authentic Icelandic farm experience.
Weather Conditions
All activities take place outdoors.
Guests should expect:
- Rain
- Wind
- Cold temperatures
- Rapid weather changes
Tours operate in most weather unless safety is affected.
Weather alone is not considered grounds for cancellation.
Horse Welfare
